Final music video

Production Log (week 9)

During this week my partner and I have had to get all of the gaps filled that was missing from our music video as on the Wednesday 18th of march was our deadline day, throughout the week my partner and I would film Aaron's shots during lunch and also film Kori's shots during our free periods so that when it came to the deadline lesson we had more than enough shots to fill in the gaps. During the deadline lesson as my partner and I was practically finished in the previous lessons we did not have to stay behind after class as we had finished and showed our teacher our finally piece at around 3:15, when she then said that it was fine and we can export it.

During this week we faced little to no problems as everything was fine and my partner and I knew what we needed to do for the following lessons so that we would not fall behind, or not get our music video in on the day of the deadline. From there being no problems we did not have to overcome anything, or fix anything.

During next weeks lesson the class will start to explore the constraints on a music video and how they apply to our music video production, from this we will have two pieces of coursework witch consist of Codes Of Practise & Regulation Grid and also Research log, this was explained to use by our teacher and we was also told that these should be completed simultaneously as if we do one and decide to do the other later we could fall behind.

Weekly Production Log (week 8)

During this week my partner and I were putting this finishing touches to our music video, for example adding in the effects of black and white also adding in transitions like fading and cross dissolve.

Our teacher said that there were not a lot of shots that had to be changed and that we are on the right path with the music video and the shots that we have added in and the locations.During last lesson my partner and I managed to finish our live type (graphics) and add them into the music video to also fill in the gaps that we previously had.

The problems that occurred during this week was still the cutting to the beat however there was only a few shots that was not cutting to the beat. The way my partner and I overcame this problem was that once we had made the changes to the cutting to the beat we would ask our teacher to check to see if it was all on the same beat instead of being on different beats.

During next week my partner and I are planning to make sure all the gaps that we had a filled and to also make sure that all of the shots are in sync and are all in right timing with the actual song it self, my partner and I are also going to make sure that all of the shots are in the right place and that the transitions are where they need to be, also next week my partner and I plan to start our evaluation as next week is our deadline week.

Weekly Production Log (week 7)

During this week my partner and I were still editing the footage that we have we also planned when we was going to film the shots that we had to add into the music video. Whilst editing my partner and I discussed what we was going to add into the blanks of the music video and also discussed when we was going to film and what we was going to re-shoot, also whilst editing we saw that some bits of Kori rapping were out of time to the music because he said the words to fast this also means that we will have to re-film those parts as well as filing in the gaps so that the music video looks quite professional.

The problems that we faced whilst continuing to edit was that we was not cutting to the same beat throughout the music video and also that we still had a few blank spaces that need to be filmed before the next few lessons so that we could have all the footage ready so that we can fix it and make the music video perfect to a professional standard.

To overcome these problems in the next couple of weeks my partner and I have decided to start from the beginning verse of the song and stop on every base beat and then make sure that the next shot would be on the screen when you hear that beat, the way we would do this is that my partner would stop the song when ever he hears the beat (as he plays the drums) I would then make changes so that the next shot would then come on the screen. To overcome the problem of filming my partner and I will film throughout the lessons to make sure we have more than enough shots so we can add extra shots if needed.

My partner and I plan to film and continue editing throughout next weeks lesson so that we can resolve the problems from this week this should then give us enough time to perfect the scenes that we have currently got and to also add and perfect the other shots that we plan to do.

Weekly Production Log (week 6)

During this week my partner and I have been editing our music video and putting in the shots where they are supposed to go and also seeing what shots will need to be re-done as they may not be in time with the music video.

Whilst editing my partner and I realised were there were gaps in the footage for were we have to film again for us to have the draft ready for our teacher and class to watch on Thursday, also during editing we started to put the effect of black and white on our shots, which was done by using colour desaturate, also on the beginning and end shot there is a video transition that makes the video shake whilst it plays, which my partner and I thought looked quite good as it went with the type of atmosphere of the music video.

During the following weeks my partner and I will be adding in more shots and also adding in more effects to the music video to make it look more realistic and will then give it a more professional look. The problems that occurred whilst filming is that we realised that some of the shots that we had shot of Kori when he was rapping and Aaron when he was rapping were both out of time to the original song.

My partner and I overcame these problems by in class re filming Kori's shots and also adding in more shots incase other shots did not fit in with the atmosphere, we also had to re film Aaron's shots and we done this at lunch as we could not take him out of class.
